2019 Flag Football for K- 6th Graders

Flag Football Format

Scarborough youth flag football offers two sessions in 2019.

Spring Session

The #1 goal of the Spring flag program is to create a fun and inclusive environment for K-6th graders to learn and enjoy the game of football. This co-ed program will run for six(6) Sunday mornings starting in middle/late April, ending in late May or early June. Players will cycle through short sets of foundation skills, bursts of practicing and scrimmaging both offensive and defensive plays and situational game scenarios.

  • Open to co-ed, K-6th grade. (current grade).
  • Broken out by age groups (Depending on registration numbers and ages of registrants will have 2 or 3 age groups).
  • Player cost - $60.
  • Receive a $25 discount for families with multiple players in the program.
  • All registrations must be completed online
  • Spring does not include playing against other towns or travel (although Fall flag does).

5/12, 5/19, 5/26, 6/2, and 6/9

All sessions will be held at Willey Field.

K-2 will be held from 9:00 - 10:00

3-6 will be held from 10:00 - 11:30

Fall Session - Sept/Oct

Players are organized into teams and practice once during the week and play games on the weekends. 8 weekly games are played against Scarborough and other towns that follow NFL Flag Football leagues rules.

Divisions - (Grade player will be in the fall 2019)

Kindergarten - 1st grade.

2nd grade - 3rd grade.

4th grade - 5th grade.

6th grade.

  • Player cost - $65 through May 1st ($75 if registered after May 1st)
  • Receive a $25 discount for families with multiple players in the program.
  • Games will be comprised of two 20 minute half's.
  • Each player will receive an authentic NFL Team Flag Football jersey and flag belt.
  • Teams are led by parent volunteers.
  • End of year banquet and recognition party!

Physical Forms

  • All players are required to have a current physical form on file.
  • Physical Forms can be found on the web site under Forms or click here for form.
  • The physical form MUST have a doctors signature in the current fiscal year.
  • PLAYERS WILL NOT BE PERMITED TO PRACTICE/PLAY UNTIL the Physical Form is turned in!
  • Mail forms to Scarborough Football Club, c/o SFC President, P.O. Box 862, Scarborough, ME 04070-0862.

Parent Code of Contact

  • Each parent/guardian is expected to review the handbook and sign the parent code of conduct.
  • In addition, each parent/guardian should review the player handbook/code of conduct with their child.

Equipment Required for Scarborough Flag Football

The following is a list of equipment players will need to purchase:

  • Mouth Guard - consider buying inexpensive ones as the players tend to lose/chew them.
  • Water Bottle - put player's name on bottle.
  • Cleats are recommended, but not required.
