2019 Fall Flag Football

 

About: The goal of the fall flag program is to provide a safe, fun, inclusive learning and competitive environment for K-6th grade athletes to learn game mechanics, get active, practice ball handling skills, and enjoy the game of football. Players are organized into teams and practice once during the week and play eight weekend games. The games follow NFL Flag Football leagues rules and will be played against other Scarborough teams or teams from neighboring towns.

Details:

  • September through October
  • Practice once weekly in the evening (TBD)
  • Eight weekend games
  • K-6th grade. (current grade)
  • Co-ed
  • Broken out by age groups: K-1st, 2nd-3rd, 4th-5th, 6th

Registration:

  • K – 5th grade registrations completed online
  • Player cost
    • $65 (prior to May 1st)
    • $75 (May 2nd through 8/16)
  • Receive a $25 discount for families with multiple players in the program.
  • 6th grade has partnered with the Maine Flag Football League to deliver a more competitive landscape..
  • Player cost
    • $150.00 until Aug 29
    • Step 1 – Go to www.scarboroughyouthfootball.com and register ($75) for the 6th grade flag football
    • Step 2 – SYF will provide 6th grade flag football players with a code to also register with MFFL. This code will provide you with a $75 discount off the cost to register on MFFL.
    • Step 3 – All 6th grade SYF flag football players must also register with the Maine Flag Football league.

      • Click on “player Registration”
      • Register players
      • At the end of the process you’ll be asked to enter a code for a discount
      • You’ll receive a $75 credit, finish payment

Physical Forms:

  • All players are required to have a current physical form on file.
  • Physical forms can be found here
  • The physical form MUST have a doctor’s signature in the current fiscal year.
  • Players WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO PRACTICE/PLAY until the Physical Form is turned in!
  • Mail forms to SFC, P.O. Box 862, Scarborough, ME 04070 or bring the form with you to the first practice

Required Equipment:

  • Mouth Guard - consider buying a couple inexpensive ones as the players tend to lose/chew them.
  • Water Bottle - put player's name on bottle.
  • Cleats are recommended, but not required.
